Woman dies in rural Whitman County car crash

From staff reports
A 19-year-old Endicott woman died Sunday afternoon in an SUV accident in rural Whitman County, according to officials. Amanda Drewer was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred on private property about five miles southwest of Lacrosse. Drewer was the lone passenger in a 1988 GMC Suburban driven by Taylor Martin, 19, of Lacrosse. Martin was airlifted from the scene to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane with neck injuries. He was listed in satisfactory condition Sunday. The two were thought to be hunting in the area when the Suburban left the roadway and traveled onto a steep hillside, according to the Whitman County Sheriff’s Office. Alcohol may have played a factor in the crash and the two were not wearing seatbelts when the vehicle left the roadway, the Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities are investigating the incident.
