School legislation clarified

A bill signed by Gov. Jay Inslee on Thursday supports the Washington Student Achievement Council educational goals for higher rates of adults with high school diplomas and postsecondary certificates by 2023. A story on page A7 mischaracterized the purpose of the bill because of a reporter’s error.

Focus on dairy cows

Recombinetics, a Minnesota-based company, is focused on genetic engineering of dairy cows. An Associated Press story Friday on page A8 reported erroneously that the company wanted to produce cattle without horns for meat.

Judge’s name misspelled

The name of U.S. District Court Judge Robert Whaley was misspelled in a Friday story on page A5 due to a reporter’s error.
