Obituary: Deckard, Calvin M.

Age 66

DECKARD, Calvin M. (Age 66) Passed away at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, ID, on April 10, 2014.

Calvin was born in Spokane, WA, on September 12, 1947, to Milton and Maxine (Parkins) Deckard.

He was raised in Spokane/ Colfax and enlisted into the US Navy in 1964 and served until 1968.

After his discharge he returned to Spokane where he met and married Dorothy Mason on May 24, 1969.

They resided in Spokane, Loon Lake, Medical Lake, and Emida, ID.

Calvin and Dorothy moved to Post Falls, ID., in 1998.

Calvin loved to travel; he and Dorothy took three years and explored the United States.

He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, and raising tomato plants and roses along with spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Post Falls, ID; two son’s: Jeff and wife Shelly Deckard of North Pole, AK, Jay and wife Kim Deckard of Williston, ND; five grandson’s: AJ, Jordan, Wyatt, Baylee, and Colbey; two great-grandchildren: Addison and Hope; three brothers, Gary, Skeeter, and Todd.

Calvin is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clifford in 2013; and his two beloved Beagles, Tater and Shorty Memorials may be made to Disabled American Veterans, Idaho Chapter, 2536 W Falling Star Loop, Post Falls, ID., 83854.

Memorial Service with Military Honors will be Saturday April 19th, 1pm at English Funeral Chapel, 1700 N Spokane St, Post Falls, Idaho.
