Seattle QB Wilson files for divorce

Bob Condotta Seattle Times

SEATTLE – Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is getting divorced from his wife of more than two years, Ashton, he announced in a statement Wednesday.

“I have made the difficult decision to file for divorce,” said Wilson in a statement released to media outlets through the NFL team. “Clearly, decisions like these don’t come easy.”

The two have known each other since high school.

Wilson led Seattle to its first Super Bowl title, a 43-8 win over Denver on Feb. 2 in New Jersey, following a 13-3 regular-season record.
