DAHLKE, Helen A.

(Blegen) (Age 94) Helen passed away August 1st, 2014 in Spokane, WA.

Helen was born June 5th, 1920 in Ryegate, MT.

She received a B.A.

from Eastern Washington College of Education where she met her late husband, Arnold F. Dahlke.

Helen taught in Cathlamet, WA and Topeka, KS prior to settling in Spokane, WA after WWII where she taught in the Spokane School District for 30 years.

Her last teaching assignment before retirement was at Salk Junior High School where she taught 7th grade Social Studies and English.

Helen is survived by her only son Gary Dahlke and wife Doralee of Spokane as well as her two grandchildren (Deanna Ojennus and her husband Paul of Spokane and Derek Dahlke and his wife Rebecca Bogar of St. Louis, MO) and two great-grandchildren (Jacob and Isaac Ojennus).

Helen enjoyed gardening, bird-watching, swimming, and playing bridge with friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 23rd at Central Lutheran Church, 512 South Bernard, Spokane, WA 99204.
