Vandals cruise past Warriors

Geraldine Trujillo scored 18 points off the bench and the Idaho women’s basketball team routed Lewis-Clark State College 74-48 Saturday in Moscow, Idaho, in the Vandals’ final nonconference game of the season.

Karlee Wilson also scored 11 points for Idaho, which led 40-19 at the half. The Vandals (6-5), who improved to 17-4 all-time against the Warriors, held a 42-14 advantage in bench scoring.

Lewis-Clark (12-2) couldn’t do much offensively in the first half. The Warriors made 6 of 28 shots from the floor, including 3 of 13 from beyond the 3-point arc.

The Vandals begin their Big Sky schedule Jan. 1 against Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho.

• Ericka Pengelly scored 14 points and Clackamas (9-3) closed the game out from the free-throw line in a 68-63 win over Community Colleges of Spokane in the Spokane Cross- over tournament title game at Spokane Falls Community College.

Emily Schramm and Gese Gruber scored 12 points apice for the Sasquatch (8-4). The Cougars made 13 of 14 second-half free throws to hold off CCS.
