Sex offender arrested on child molestation charges

A registered sex offender is being held in the Spokane County Jail on $100,000 bond after being charged with first-degree child molestation and two counts of second-degree child molestation. Earl R. Connery, 41, was also ordered to have no contact with minors after being accused of molesting several 11- and 12-year-old boys as they slept in the home where he was staying in 2012 and 2013. In each case the boys awoke to find Connery fondling them, according to court documents. He was previously convicted of third-degree rape in 2008 and was a suspect in two sexual assault cases in 2009, all involving adults. In every case Connery is suspected of assaulting his victims as they slept, according to court documents.
