Four corners: Washington State Cougars

COMING UP: Thursday at No. 1 Arizona, 7 p.m. (Pac-12 Networks); Sunday at Arizona State, 3 p.m. (ESPNU)

OUTLOOK: Washington State will dive headfirst into Pac-12 play, taking on the supposed best team in the conference – and nation – in No.1 Arizona. Facing two of the conference’s best backcourts right off the bat would be a tall order in its own right, but the Cougars have the added challenge of being without leading scorer DaVonte Lacy. While coach Ken Bone said Lacy will travel, it is unlikely he will play following appendicitis surgery last week. Explosive guards Nick Johnson and Jahii Carson lead the Wildcats and the Sun Devils, respectively.
