NFL: Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin is still going through concussion testing and has not been cleared for Sunday’s NFC championship game.

Seattle coach Pete Carroll said Harvin didn’t participate in practice Thursday. He said the only deadline for Harvin is the one determined by doctors who must clear Harvin for him to be able to play against San Francisco.

Before being injured in Saturday’s NFC divisional playoff win, Harvin had three receptions and one carry in just his second game of the season.

Buck, M’s finalize 1-year deal

MLB: Catcher John Buck and the Mariners have finalized a $1 million, one-year contract, giving Seattle another veteran option behind the plate.

The agreement was struck earlier this week and announced Thursday. He can earn $3 million in performance bonuses.

The 33-year-old hit .219 with 15 homers and 62 RBIs in 110 games last year for the New York Mets and Pittsburgh Pirates. He hit 63 homers over the last four seasons, fifth-most among catchers.

Seattle designated outfielder Carlos Peguero for assignment to clear a spot on its 40-man roster.

Sounders pick 2 defenders in draft

MLS: A day after aqcuiring centerback Jalil Anibaba, Seattle Sounders FC continued reshaping its back line by selecting a pair of defenders in the Major League Soccer SuperDraft.

With the eighth overall pick, the Sounders selected Damion Lowe from Hartford. With the second pick in the second round – 21st overall – they took Jimmy Ockford of Louisville.

Draft day began with Philadelphia trading for D.C. United’s top overall pick. The Union then made UConn’s Andre Blake the first goalkeeper taken with the first pick.
