Whitworth cruises to win over Linfield

Colton McCargar scored a game-high 19 points Saturday and Whitworth used a 37-20 advantage in bench scoring to storm past Linfield 83-59 in Northwest Conference play at McMinnville, Ore.

McCargar shot 5 of 8 from the floor, including 4 of 7 on 3-pointers, and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line.

Christian Jurlina added 12 points and George Valle had eight rebounds for the Pirates (11-4, 5-1).

Whitworth shot 14 of 23 from the field in the second half. The Pirates hit 10 of 22 from long range.

The Wildcats (2-13, 0-6) trailed by as many as 28 points.

CC Spokane 78, Blue Mountain 67: Kwinn Hanson scored 26 points, hitting 9 of 14 from the floor, and tied for game-high honors with nine rebounds as the Sasquatch (13-5, 3-1 NWAACC) defeated the host Timberwolves (4-12, 0-4) at Pendleton, Ore.

North Idaho 83, Eastern Utah 65: Bryce Leavitt scored 22 points, finishing 11 of 12 from the line to lead the team’s 27-for-33 effort, as the Cardinals (17-5, 4-3 SWAC) defeated the visiting Golden Eagles (17-4, 4-3).
