Obituary: Brown, George Harold

Age 76

BROWN, George Harold George Harold Brown Sr. was 76 years old.

He passed away on July 14, 2014 in Kalispell, MT.

George was born on September 5, 1937 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was the son of Harold Franklin Brown Sr. and Yvonne Mabel Taufer.

George spent his early childhood in Salt Lake City before moving to Spokane, WA.

He graduated from John R. Rogers High School.

George married Judy Kay Johnston on November 9, 1957 in Spokane, WA.

George and Judy have five children and George enjoyed spending time with his family.

George was involved supporting his children’s many activities.

George was an avid scouter and spent much of his adult life serving in the Boy Scouts of America in the Spokane area.

George also coached little league baseball for many years in Spokane.

George was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ.

George cherished the callings he held in the church.

He particularly loved serving with the youth as a Scout Master and in the Young Men’s program.

George had a career in computers and data management and held many positions, while in Spokane he worked for Medical Service Corporation and Modern Electric Water Company.

George is survived by his wife, Judy (Kalispell, MT); his children, Deanna Walker (Brian) (Kalispell, MT), George Brown Jr. (Kathy) (Tum Tum, WA), Patrick Brown (Linda) (Bozeman, MT), Eric Brown (Melissa) (Mesa, AZ), and David Brown (Manon) (Auburn, WA); 16 Grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his sisters, Beverly Powell (Spokane, WA) and Susan Binnal (Newton, MA); and his brother, Victor Brown (Chelan, WA); and a large extended family.

George was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Harold and Timothy.

George will be interred at Greenwood Memorial Terrace in Spokane, WA.
