Motorcyclist killed in crash north of Spokane

A motorcyclist is dead after an accident five miles north of Spokane on State Route 291 around 8 a.m. this morning. Robert L. White, 62, was riding his 1985 Honda motorcycle north when he was hit head on by a Nissan driven by a 17-year-old Nine Mile Falls resident, according to the Washington State Patrol. The teen was driving south in the northbound lane before hitting White, who was also a resident of Nine Mile Falls. White died after being transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center by MedStar, the WSP said. An investigation is underway to determine if the teen will face criminal charges.
