SPOKANE VALLEY – Mirabeau Point Park has been selected by Macy’s and the National Recreations and Parks Association to receive contributions from its Heart Your Park program, which will collect donations at the Macy’s store in Spokane Valley Mall through March 31.

Customers will have the opportunity to make donations as they check out with their purchases. Macy’s will match donations dollar-for-dollar up to $250,000 nationwide.

At Mirabeau Point Park, the donations will be used to support improvements, operations and maintenance.

Citizens asked to report potholes

SPOKANE VALLEY – The city of Spokane Valley is asking for help in finding and fixing potholes after the recent freeze and thaw.

To report a pothole, call (509) 921-1000 or visit www.spokanevalley.org/ CARES. You will need to provide the location of the pothole, the size and severity and any other information that may help the city fix it.

Two free Mirabeau movies chosen

SPOKANE VALLEY – The free movies that will be shown this summer at Mirabeau Meadows Park in Spokane Valley are “Despicable Me 2” and “Frozen.”

The films were selected by residents who cast votes online at the city’s website.

“Despicable Me 2” will be shown July 25 at 8:50 p.m., and “Frozen” will be shown on Aug. 22 at 8:10 p.m. Both are Fridays.

Free crafts activities will be hosted by city’s Parks and Recreation Department before the movies are shown. Moviegoers are urged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to the park, which is located at 13500 Mirabeau Parkway.

EV school board forum today
