Spokane Valley looking for new Planning Commission member

Spokane Valley is looking for a new Planning Commission member.

Chris Sneider has resigned his seat on the volunteer panel because he’s accepted employment outside of the area, according to the city, and a replacement is needed to fill the remainder of his term, which runs through the end of 2016.

Planning commissioners review and make recommendations on the city’s future development, including changes to its comprehensive plan, shoreline and other environmental protections and development regulations. The commission typically meets the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.

Applications are available at Spokane Valley City Hall, 11707 E. Sprague Ave., and can be found on the city’s website. Deadline for applying is June 16.

Commissioners must be city residents and confirmed by the City Council.
