KRAUSE, Florence Minnie (Stolt) Florence M. A.

(Stolt) Krause passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2014 at the age of 92, surrounded by loving family.

She was born June 1, 1922 near Minot, ND and baptized June 10th of the same year.

Florence was born third in a family of six children, including five sisters and one brother.

She and her family lived a happy farm life and then moved to Washington state in 1936 to live near Clayton, WA.

They lived there for two years where she was confirmed at Trysil Lutheran Church.

The family moved again to Dishman in 1937 where she attended West Valley High School.

While in Dishman, the family joined Redeemer Lutheran Church.

It was there that she met Adolf Krause.

A romance blossomed and they were married two years later on February 16, 1941.

They left Redeemer and joined Gethsemane Lutheran Church in 1971.

Adolf and his brother owned and operated the Krause Nursery on East Sprague Ave. for over 40 years.

Florence worked right alongside Adolf in the office.

Over time, Florence and Adolf took great trips to Hawaii, Fall Foliage trips to New England, and to Alaska.

They spent winters in Arizona for 10 years.

Adolf departed to meet his Lord on February 24, 2002.

The Lord blessed them with a fully happy life together for 63 years.

Florence is survived by one sister, Videll Dungey of Myrtle Creek, OR; her daughter, Mary Lee (William) Peek of Snohomish, WA; her son, Glen (Kathleen) Krause and Joan (Delong) Krause.

She has four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of Florence’s Life will be held Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 11315 E. Broadway, Spokane Valley, WA.

All are invited to a luncheon following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any donations be made to a memorial fund in her name to support Gethsemane Lutheran Church School.
