College football: Colorado State wins 6th straight

Garrett Grayson threw five touchdown passes, pushing his career total to a school record 53, and the Colorado State Rams (7-1, 3-1 Mountain West Conference) rolled to a 45-31 victory over the Wyoming Cowboys (3-5, 1-3) Saturday night in Fort Collins, Colorado, for their sixth straight win.

It is the longest winning streak in a season for Colorado State since 2002, when the Rams also won six in a row.

Grayson completed his first 13 passes of the game and finished 18 of 21 for 390 yards.

Utah State 34, UNLV 20: Craig Harrison threw three TD passes, including one to Joe Hill who also ran for a score, as the Aggies (5-3, 2-1 MWC) topped the Rebels (2-6, 1-3) in Logan, Utah.

Harrison passed for 221 yards in three quarters of play for the Aggies before leaving with a leg injury on the final series of the third quarter.

Georgia Tech 56, Pittsburgh 28: Broderick Snoddy ran for 82 yards and three TDs and the Yellow Jackets (6-2, 3-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) took advantage of six turnovers by the Panthers (4-4, 2-2) for a win in Pittsburgh.

Boston College 23, Wake Forest 17: Jon Hilliman rushed for 101 yards and two TDs and the Eagles (5-3, 1-2 ACC) edged the Demon Deacons (2-6, 0-3) in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

North Dakota State 47, South Dakota 7: Carson Wentz passed for 231 yards and three TDs to lead the defending FBS champion Bison (8-0, 4-0 Missouri Valley Conference) over the Coyotes (2-6, 0-4) in Vermillion, South Dakota.

Navy 41, San Jose State 31: Quarterback Keenan Reynolds ran for a career-high 251 yards and three TDs and the Midshipmen (4-4) scored on seven straight possessions in a victory over the Spartans (3-4) in Annapolis, Maryland.

North Carolina 28, Virginia 27: Mitch Trubisky threw a 16-yard TD pass on his only play of the game with 4:05 remaining and the Tar Heels (4-4, 2-2 ACC) stunned the Cavaliers (4-4, 2-2) in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Illinois 28, Minnesota 24: V’Angelo Bentley scored on a 12-yard fumble return in the fourth quarter and the Illini (4-4, 1-3 Big Ten) defeated the Golden Gophers (6-2, 3-1) in Champaign, Illinois.

Wisconsin 52, Maryland 7: Melvin Gordon rushed for 122 yards and three TDs to lead the Badgers (5-2, 2-1 Big Ten) past the Terrapins (5-3, 2-2) in Madison, Wisconsin.
