Jewell Loyd, Ramu Tokashiki lead Storm past Stars 72-63

SEATTLE – Jewell Loyd had 18 points, six rebounds and four assists, and Ramu Tokashiki added 13 points and a career-high nine rebounds to help the Seattle Storm beat the San Antonio Stars 72-63 on Sunday night.

Sue Bird had 13 points and five assists for Seattle (7-19). Bird moved past Tangela Smith into 11th on the WNBA career scoring list with 5,049 points.

A pair of free throws by Danielle Robinson gave San Antonio (7-18) a 59-57 lead with 5:03 remaining, but the Stars made just 2 of 7 field goals down the stretch as Seattle closed the game on a 15-4 run.

Kayla McBride scored 19 points and Jayne Appel added 12 with eight rebounds for San Antonio.

The Stars have lost six of their last seven games and are 0-13 on the road this season.
