Men’s basketball: NIC wins, will play Everett in Bigfoot-Cardinal Classic title game

Brayon Blake scored 26 points on 10-of-17 shooting and North Idaho routed Big Bend (3-3) 121-92 in the semifinals of the Bigfoot-Cardinal Classic in Coeur d’Alene.

NIC’s Braian Angola Rodas added 22 points, Haywood Irwin had 19 and Lucas Antunez chipped in 13 points and eight assists.

The Cardinals hit 12 of 21 3-pointers and 21 of 29 free throws. NIC (10-0) will play Everett in Sunday’s title game.

Everett (6-1) advanced with a 95-92 win over Community Colleges of Spokane at Spokane Community College.

The Sasquatch (6-1) didn’t have an answer for Derek Brown Jr., who had 41 points, eight rebounds and six assists.

Race Martin led CCS with 23 points, 11 rebounds and six assists. The Sasquatch will play Big Bend for third place on Sunday.
