Cusick woman dies in crash

A Cusick woman was killed in a car crash on Highway 20 just north of Cusick in Pend Oreille County Thursday morning.

Charles I. Hubbard, 72, was driving north on Highway 20 when he lost control on the ice and slush covered road, according to the Washington State Patrol. His minivan hit a tree and ended up in a ditch.

Hubbard and one passenger, 41-year-old Daissie M. Anderson of Newport, were uninjured. A second passenger, Jacklyn M. Hubbard, 65, died at the scene.
