UFC fighter Julianna Pena arrested after bar fight in downtown Spokane

Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Julianna Pena was arrested Sunday morning outside a downtown Spokane bar after she allegedly assaulted two employees.

Pena, 26, went to the door of Zola’s around 2:20 a.m. Sunday with her training partner and asked to use the restroom, according to the police report. Her partner was bleeding from the face from an earlier fight and Pena told police she wanted to clean him up.

The report said staff were closing the bar and told Pena she couldn’t come in. She allegedly became enraged and lunged toward a bar employee, kicking him twice in the groin, and attacked another employee.

Pena was booked into jail on two misdemeanor assault charges and released Monday afternoon.

She competes in mixed martial arts and is ranked 6th in the UFC’s bantamweight class, according to her UFC profile. A UFC spokesman told KREM that UFC is aware of the situation but gathering more information before commenting.
