Big weekend for Brett Favre, joining Packers Hall of Fame

(Associated Press)

The big weekend in Green Bay is finally here for Brett Favre. The former quarterback will be inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame and have his No. 4 jersey retired on Saturday. Favre and the Packers have mended their relationship after a messy split from Green Bay in 2008. It stemmed from the then-annual offseason drama over whether Favre would retire. The event inside Lambeau Field is the start of a green-and-gold celebration of his storied, 16-year career with the Packers. He led the revival of one of the NFL’s marquee franchises after being traded from Atlanta following the 1991 season. Favre’s number will go up on the stadium’s interior facade during the Thanksgiving night game against the Chicago Bears. – Associated Press
