Obituary: Martindale, Gerald “Max”

Age 74

MARTINDALE, Gerald “Max” 1940-2015 With broken hearts we announce the passing of our father, son, brother and uncle into the arms of his Savior on June 6th, 2015.

Max was born at home in Crosby, Arkansas to Chester and Dorothy Martindale on August 15th, 1940.

The First of six children and the only son and grandson for 20 years.

Max was preceded in death by his father Chester Martindale, sisters Shirley Martindale and Trena Koziol.

Also one niece Kari Hancock.

Max spent the first years of his life in the beautiful country setting of Arkansas with the Ozark Mountains at his back.

He loved growing up around all his relatives and got the biggest kick out of telling all the fun stories of the good ole days.

Max’s teenage years were spent on the family farm in Connell, WA and later in southern California where he joined the United States Navy to serve his country.

After the Navy, the family was back in the Moses Lake, WA area where he lived for the next several years.

There, Max met and married his sweetheart, Judy Johnson and together they had two daughters, Jerri Lyn and Sherri.

They were very active in the Moses Lake JCs and Max was eventually elected President.

Through out the years Max worked for U&I Sugar Co. along with his father as a mechanic and AsmieTitanium in Moses Lake and Tree Top in Wenatchee, WA.

After being a very hard worker all of his life, Max retired at the age of 71.

Max then moved to Arco, ID to be close to his brother (Bro) and best friend, Ron.

This is where he was truly happy.

Max loved to hunt and fish and was a master at tying flies, his favorite hobby.

Under the grizzly bear facade, was just a big hearted teddy bear with a very unique sense of humor.

Max will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

Max is survived by his daughters, Jerri Lyn (Ron) Rhoads, Deer Park, WA and Sherri (Larry) Dye, Yakima, WA; his mother Dorothy Martindale, Spokane, WA; sisters Deloris (Chuck) Gaylord, Spokane, WA and Pam (Kevin) Beckstrom, Richmond, TX; brother Ron (Jacque) Martindale, Arco, ID; nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

REST IN PEACE BIG BROTHER.

Arrangements in the care of Andersons Funeral Home Arco, Idaho.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
