A 16-year-old girl at the center of a human trafficking case being pursued by the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office is also listed as the victim in a similar case under investigation by the Spokane Police Department.

The suspects in each case are different and the alleged trafficking of the girl for sex occurred at different times. The 16-year-old girl was a runaway last summer when she was allegedly forced to work as a prostitute at local motels.

In the case investigated by Spokane police, Cortney V. Harvey, 36, was ordered held on $20,000 bond on Friday on a charge of promoting sexual abuse of a minor. Harvey is suspected of taking provocative photos of the teen for an “escort” ad on backpage.com, according to court documents.

The victim told police Harvey threatened to hurt her family if she told anyone what was going on, according to court documents.

Police issued a warrant for the arrest of Shakayla F. Delcambre, 22, on a charge of commercial sexual abuse of a minor. She allegedly posted the ad and sometimes went with the teen for “dates.” According to court documents, Delcambre told police she didn’t know the teen was a minor, and when she found out, she called the girl’s mother to report what was going on.

Grover J. Jones, 26, is wanted on a charge of promoting travel for commercial sexual abuse of a minor. Jones allegedly drove the teen to her appointments at local motels.

The man at the core of the case investigated by the sheriff’s office, Dante D. Oliver, also appeared in court Friday. He was ordered held on $50,000 bond on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, promoting commercial sexual abuse of a minor, human trafficking and violation of a protection order.

Oliver also is accused of advertising the teen in the “escort” section of backpage.com and forcing her to work as a prostitute.
