Bayview human remains identified

From staff reports
The human remains found by a hiker outside of Bayview, Idaho in early February belonged to a Coeur d’Alene man reported missing last year. The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office worked with the King County medical examiner to identify the bones of Billy Davis, 44. Davis was last seen by his family in July 2014. Family members reported him missing in November 2014. Davis lives a transient lifestyle and was commonly out of contact with his family for long periods of time, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release. He was last seen wearing black jeans, a blue plaid hooded sweatshirt and brown hiking boots. A forensic investigation into the circumstances and causes of Davis’ death is ongoing. Detectives are hoping to speak to anyone who may have had contact with him, especially in the spring and summer of 2014. Anyone with more information should call Kootenai County Sheriff’s Detective Jerry Northrup at (208) 446-2237
