From Wire Reports

Barbra Streisand is set to publish her long-discussed and long-awaited memoir.

The legendary singer-actress-filmmaker has a deal with Viking for her life story, the publisher announced Wednesday. The book is currently untitled and scheduled for 2017. According to Viking, Streisand will reflect on her childhood, her career and on the private life she has carefully guarded.

Streisand, 73, has been contemplating a memoir since at least 2009 when she told the Associated Press that she had been writing down thoughts and wondering whether she wanted to “relive” her life. The subject of numerous unauthorized books, she committed herself more strongly in recent years to completing her memoir.

“There are over 50 unauthorized biographies about Ms. Streisand that are full of myths and inaccuracies, and she is finally going to tell her own story,” Viking president and publisher Brian Tart said in a statement.

Dickinson sues Cosby for defamation

Model Janice Dickinson sued Bill Cosby for defamation on Wednesday over denials made by the comedian’s representatives after she accused him last year of raping her in 1982.

Dickinson’s lawsuit seeks unspecified damages on defamation, false light and intentional infliction of emotional distress claims. The suit states Dickinson has been revictimized and her reputation has suffered because of pointed denials by Cosby’s attorney that the comedian drugged and raped her in a Lake Tahoe, California, hotel room more than 30 years ago.

The allegations were first made in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” after numerous other women accused Cosby of drugging them and inappropriate sexual conduct dating back several decades.

The lawsuit states Dickinson, 60, sought a retraction of the denials from Cosby but the request was denied.

An email sent to Cosby’s attorney Martin Singer was not immediately returned. Singer called Dickinson’s rape allegations “false and outlandish” in a letter to the Associated Press last year.

Williams won’t host awards show

NBC’s Brian Williams has withdrawn from hosting a broadcast honoring those who support U.S. veterans and military families, and first lady Michelle Obama is stepping in to film an introduction instead. Williams was set to host the inaugural Lincoln Awards, which are scheduled to air Friday on PBS.

Williams was suspended at NBC following revelations he embellished details of stories he was involved in, including military coverage.

The Lincoln Award honorees include Bruce Springsteen; Segway inventor and bionic arm creator Dean Kamen; and Fisher House Foundation CEO Ken Fisher, among others.
