Girls soccer: Burland cousins lead East Valley past Clarkston

Elle Burland scored in the 38th minute Tuesday to help East Valley toward a 2-1 victory over visiting Clarkston in Great Northern League girls soccer

Burland’s cousin, Hannah, assisted on Clohe Gellhaus’ goal at 70 minutes for the host Knights (9-2, 7-1). EV had a 12-2 shots advantage over the Bantams (5-5, 4-4).

Idaho 3A District I-II

St. Maries 3, Timberlake 2: The Lumberjacks won a shootout 3-2 for a victory over Timberlake in a loser-out match at Central United Methodist in Coeur d’Alene. Stephen Davenport scored twice for St. Maries and added a shootout goal. Timberlake’s Thomas Hauck scored at 44 minutes for a 2-1 lead. St. Maries will play a winner-to-state match at 3 p.m. Thursday at the same site.
