SEATTLE – The city of Seattle has announced plans to open three new homeless camps early next year.

Seattlepi.com reported that the city’s Human Services Department says in a Thursday news release the camps will have space to house more than 200 people combined. The sites will be in Georgetown, Highland Park and North Seattle.

Two of the three new homeless camp locations will be sponsored by the Low Income Housing Institute, Nickelsville and SHARE. The organizations already sponsor several camps and tiny house villages around Seattle.

Each of the new sites will feature 50 housing units with room for up to 70 people. Two of the locations have been described as tiny house villages, while the other will be a tent encampment.
