ELLENSBURG – One person was hospitalized after a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 90 early Thursday morning, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The crash happened just after midnight about 2 miles west of Ellensburg, according to a news release from the patrol.

Marquinton K. Bowman, 23, of Angier, North Carolina, was eastbound when he lost control of his 2008 Ford Mustang, which hit a guardrail and stopped on the freeway, according to the release.

Troopers said Cecil C. Catterall, 67, of Athol didn’t see the Mustang in time to stop, and struck it with his 2005 Buick Rendezvous .

Bowman, who was standing outside his car, was thrown over a guardrail when the Buick pushed his car into him, troopers said.

The Buick then struck a 2000 Ford Explorer, whose driver had pulled over to see if anyone was hurt, troopers said.

Bowman was taken by ambulance to KVH Hospital in Ellensburg. The hospital reported he was stabilized and transferred to a different facility, but staff there could not say which facility he was transferred to.
