Spokane police locate body believed to be 73-year-old homicide victim

Police late Saturday removed a body from the Spokane home of a 73-year-old woman whose son was arrested on suspicion of killing her.

Police believe it’s Wanda Bush whose body was found inside the home she shared with her son in the 3400 block of West Hoffman Avenue. The Spokane County medical examiner will confirm the identity.

William W. Bassett Jr., 54, reported his mother missing from the home Saturday and told police he last saw her early Friday afternoon.

Major Crimes detectives arrested Bassett and booked him into the Spokane County Jail on a charge of second-degree murder.

Detectives obtained a search warrant Saturday evening before entering the home to recover the body.
