Yellowstone park gets $250K grant to preservation project
HELENA, Mont. – Yellowstone National Park has been awarded a $250,000 grant to make repairs to historic stonework at one of 10 sites overlooking the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone.
The National Trust for Historic Preservation announced grants to Yellowstone and eight other parks on Wednesday.
The Yellowstone Park Foundation will receive the grant by September on behalf of the park, which will use the money to rehabilitate the Brink of Upper Falls Overlook.
Twenty national parks participated in the grant program, which helped raise awareness about their preservation needs. An online vote determined the winning projects.
