Body discovered in Spokane River in Spokane Valley

Detectives are investigating the death of a man found Wednesday morning in the Spokane River.

The body was spotted just before 10 a.m. by a person walking along the river in Spokane Valley, near the 16200-block of Indiana Ave., below the the Centennial Trial.

The body appears to be a white male and likely was not in the water for a long period, said Spokane County Sheriff’s Deputy Mark Gregory. Major crimes detectives are investigating the case.

Identity of the man will be released by the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s Office, Gregory said.
