Liberty Lake pranksters practice doorbell ringing skills

Earlier this month a Liberty Lake home was the victim of an old-fashioned egging. Last week another time-honored youthful prank made an appearance – doorbell ringing.

A resident in the 500 block of North Homestead called police at midnight on Nov. 23 to report that a group of four to five teens were going house to house ringing doorbells. Nothing was found initially, but someone called in a group of suspicious people in the 23000 block of East Boone Avenue at 12:55 a.m.

Officers contacted the group of teens and discovered they didn’t match the description of the youth running around ringing doorbells.

Other calls from Nov. 14-28

Nov. 15: Police were called for a woman holding a sign outside a business in the 600 block of North Legacy Ridge Drive protesting. The woman was told that she had to move to public property if she wanted to remain.

Nov. 19: A resident in the 25000 block of East Hawkstone Loop called to report harassing phone calls. She said someone kept calling her from a blocked number claiming there had been a lawsuit filed against her.

Nov. 22: A resident in the area of Legacy Ridge Drive and Country Vista Drive said there were numerous cars there that she believed had been sent to harass her. An officer determined that the cars were driven by parents waiting to pick up their children from the school bus stop. Two men were arrested after they were caught trying to cash fraudulent checks at a business in the 1400 block of North Liberty Lake Road.

Nov. 23: A business in the 19000 block of East Cataldo Avenue reported that items had been stolen from more than 15 RVs parked there.

Nov. 24: An injured animal was reported at Liberty Lake Road and Country Vista Drive.
