Woman discovers naked man vandalizing downtown Spokane office building

A woman told police that she found a “naked, sweating male” inside a downtown Spokane office building after she responded to an alarm Tuesday evening.

The alarm at the Lincoln Plaza Building at 818 W. Riverside Ave. went off at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. The woman said when she arrived at the eighth floor the elevator panel had been pulled from the wall, according to court documents. A fire alarm in a nearby stairwell had also been damaged.

She told police that the encountered the naked man when she walked down the stairs to investigate noises. She said he appeared to be under the influence of something and that’s when she called for help, according to court documents.

A total of three fire alarms were damaged and will have to be rewired and replaced before the fire alarm system will work, court documents state.

Michael A. Howard, 51, was treated at a local hospital and arrested on suspicion of second-degree malicious mischief.
