A man wanted on a warrant for attempted murder was arrested in North Spokane early Saturday morning after an all night standoff with police.

Police arrived at the home in the 3900 block of North Washington Street just before 8 p.m. Friday after developing information that Coby C. Adams, 38, was inside, according to a police department news release. He refused to come out, launching a standoff with police that lasted until early Saturday morning.

Adams was arrested without incident after a police dog was sent inside the home to find him. Adams has a lengthy and violent criminal history and the SWAT team and the U.S. Marshal’s Office participated in the arrest, the news release said.

A warrant for Adams’ arrest was issued on Oct. 6. He has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault and three counts of first-degree armed robbery. He is also facing three counts of identity theft in an unrelated case.

Police have not released any information on what incident Adams’ charges relate to and efforts to obtain that information Saturday were unsuccessful.
