Highway 2 back open in Douglas County near Waterville

A 10-mile stretch of Highway 2 west of Waterville in Douglas County was closed for several hours Thursday afternoon due to landslide concerns.

The Washington State Patrol reported that the highway was closed between mile posts 140 and 150 in the Pine Canyon area because of a rain-soaked unstable slope. The road opened back up shortly before 8 p.m.
