Flights arriving at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport are being delayed because of low visibility caused by wildfire smoke in the area, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The FAA issued the ground delay notice Tuesday afternoon. Flights were being delayed an average of 34 minutes, the FAA advised. Flights departing from Seattle are also being affected. There was no indication how long the delay would last.

People with flights scheduled to land in Seattle Tuesday evening should check with their airlines to check departure times.
