EWU freshman football players Anfernee Gurley, Antoine Custer Jr. honored

Eastern Washington defensive back and special teams player Anfernee Gurley was chosen to the Hero Sports All-America freshman first team. He had 37 tackles, three broken-up passes and two forced fumbles.

Given honorable mention was running back Antoine Custer Jr., who finished the season with 776 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns.
