A large outbuilding burned down in Greenacres Thursday afternoon, destroying a new truck, a boat and a fifth wheel trailer in the process.

The Spokane Valley Fire Department was called to 20005 E. Micaview Drive just before 11 a.m. Thursday after a neighbor spotted smoke coming from the metal-sided building. Firefighters initially tried fighting the fire inside the building but had to withdraw because of concerns the building would collapse, according to fire department news release.

A crew from Spokane County Fire District 8 assisted at the scene. Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the nearby home. Damage is estimated at $150,000 and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
