Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass remains closed by slides

Associated Press

Interstate 90 over Snoqualmie Pass remains closed Thursday morning because of numerous slides, according to the Department of Transportation.

The highway has been closed to traffic in both directions from Ellensburg to North Bend since Tuesday evening. Wednesday, conditions were too dangerous for workers to even start clearing the pass, according to the DOT, but officials will be reevaluating conditions Thursday morning.

U.S. 12 is still open over White Pass, as is U.S. 2 over Stevens Pass. As of Thursday morning, chains are required on U.S. 2.

This story will be updated as we learn more about the timetable for reopening I-90.
