Sandpoint woman dies in collision with semi on U.S. Highway 95

A Sandpoint woman driving on the wrong side of the highway died in a headon collision with a semi early Saturday morning on U.S. Highway 95 north of Hayden.

Samantha Wolf, 31, was driving her 2005 Chevy Tahoe south in the northbound lanes just after 3 a.m. when it hit a northbound semi driven by Samarpal Khaira, 23, of Alberta, Canada, according to the Idaho State Police. Wolf, who was wearing her seat belt, died at the scene.

Khaira and his passenger, 31-year-old Purewal Sukhpreet of Alberta, were both injured and taken to Kootenai Health.

The crash is under investigation.
