Tacoma (AAA) 9, Albuquerque 3

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Tyler O’Neill homered and singled twice, scoring two runs as the Tacoma Rainiers (47-49) defeated the Albuquerque Isotopes (49-47) 9-3 in the second game of a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Zach Shank doubled and singled with two RBIs for Tacoma.

Tacoma started the scoring in the first inning when D.J. Peterson and Gordon Beckham hit RBI singles.

Albuquerque answered in the bottom of the inning when Jordan Patterson hit an RBI double, driving in Rosell Herrera to get within one.

The Rainiers later added four runs in the second, one in the fourth, and two in the sixth to secure the victory.

Jonathan Aro (4-0) got the win in relief while Albuquerque starter Thad Weber (1-5) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game.

Herrera doubled and singled, scoring a run and also driving one home for the Isotopes. Patterson doubled twice, driving in a run and also scoring one.

The teams split the doubleheader after Albuquerque won the first game 5-3.

Arkansas (AA) 12, Tulsa 4

TULSA, Okla. – Seth Mejias-Brean, Dario Pizzano and Ryan Casteel each drove home three runs, as the Arkansas Travelers (43-52) beat the Tulsa (48-47) Drillers 12-4 on Tuesday.

Mejias-Brean homered and singled twice, scoring three runs while also driving in three. Pizzano doubled and singled twice, driving in three runs and scoring a pair.

Arkansas had three big innings in the blowout victory, scoring four runs in each of the first, fifth, and ninth innings.

The key inning was the first, when Casteel hit an RBI double, bringing home Pizzano.

Arkansas left-hander Anthony Misiewicz (2-1) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing three runs on five hits over six innings. Opposing starter Andrew Sopko (2-5) took the loss in the Texas League game after giving up four runs and three hits while only recording two outs.

Inland Empire 9, Modesto (High-A) 8

MODESTO, Calif. – Kyle Survance hit a two-run double in the seventh inning, leading the Inland Empire 66ers (46-50) to a 9-8 win over the Modesto Nuts (54-42) on Tuesday.

Nathan Bates allowed a run, but got Luis Liberato to ground out with a runner on second to end the game for his fifth save of the season.

The double by Survance came in the midst of a nine-run inning and gave the 66ers a 7-6 lead. Later in the inning, Connor Justus hit a two-run single.

Modesto cut the deficit to one after Eric Filia scored on a ground out in the seventh inning and Filia hit an RBI double in the ninth.

Garrett Nuss (4-2) got the win in relief while Joe Pistorese (0-2) took the loss in the California League game.

Several Nuts chipped in at the plate, as five players collected at least two hits. Filia doubled twice and singled, driving in a run and also scoring one.

Clinton (Low-A)

Everett (Short-A) 3, Eugene 2

EUGENE, Ore. – Joseph Rosa hit a run-scoring double in the ninth inning, leading the Everett AquaSox (13-20) to a 3-2 win over the Eugene Emeralds (19-14) on Tuesday.

David Gerber struck Jhonny Bethencourt out with a runner on first to end the game for his first save of the season.

Chris Torres scored on Rosa’s double after he hit a single with two outs.

Everett went up 2-0 after Rosa scored on an error in the third inning and Johnny Adams got hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the eighth. Eugene answered in the bottom of the inning when Kwang-Min Kwon scored on a wild pitch and Rafael Narea scored on a single.

David Ellingson (1-3) got the win in relief while Brian Glowicki (0-2) took the loss in the Northwest League game.

For the Emeralds, Miguel Amaya singled three times.
