PULLMAN – The Washington State men’s basketball team received some immediate frontcourt help on Friday with the news that North Dakota forward Drick Bernstine will play his final collegiate year in Pullman.

Bernstine is a graduate transfer, meaning he can play immediately at his new school.

Bernstein was a key contributor at UND, averaging 8.3 points and more than seven rebounds per game for the Big Sky Conference champions. His best game came against Arizona in the NCAA Tournament when he scored 20 points and secured 15 rebounds.

He should contribute immediately on a WSU front line that lost three-year starting power forward Josh Hawkinson and starting center a Conor Clifford to graduation this offseason. Drick Bernstine’s father, Rod, played in the NFL, selected in the first round in 1987 by the San Diego Chargers. His grandmother and grandfather are WSU graduates.
