Taeshon Cherry, who listed GU as finalist, picks USC

Taeshon Cherry, a five-star 2018 recruit, on Friday committed to USC, picking the Trojans from a group of finalists that included Gonzaga.

Cherry’s commitment to USC wasn’t considered a surprise. The 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward from St. Augustine High in San Diego announced his decision on his Twitter account.

Cherry told ESPN.com he picked USC over Texas A&M and Gonzaga. His original list of finalists included Arizona, Oregon and San Diego State.
