Gonzaga’s Few, Williams-Goss earn national honors

It’s awards season in college basketball and Gonzaga’s Nigel Williams-Goss and Mark Few picked up some honors Monday.

Few was named coach of the year by NBCsports.com. Gonzaga won the WCC regular-season title and Few has guided the team to 30 wins for the third time in five seasons.

Williams-Goss was named second-team All-America by NBCsports.com, USA Today and Sporting News.

The junior guard also is one of five finalists for the Cousy Award, presented to the nation’s top point guard. Kansas’ Frank Mason III, UCLA’s Lonzo Ball, North Carolina’s Joel Berry II and Villanova’s Jalen Brunson are the other finalists.
