Stevens County car crash send two men in their 60s to hospital

From staff reports

Two men injured in a Stevens County car crash were flown to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center.

The Washington State Patrol said Robert L. Tilley, a 66-year-old from Nine Mile Falls, was driving a yellow 2015 Chevy Camaro and attampted to pass multiple cars in a no-passing zone along a curve on State Route 291 north of Spokane.

The Camaro steered off the road, crashed and rolled several times before stopping about 50 feet off the roadway.

Also injured was Tilley’s passenger, Michael B. Wilson, 63, of Ocean Shores.

Tilley was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the WSP report. Wilson was wearing a seatbelt.

The WSP said the cause of the accident is under investigation and that charges of vehicular assault will be pursued against Tilley.
