Utah State guard Koby McEwen presents challenging matchup

Utah State’s Koby McEwen, who left Wednesday’s game with an ankle injury but is expected to play, brings strong credentials from last season (14.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.1 assists). He scored in a variety of ways, including 58 3-pointers and nearly six free throws attempted per game. He plays point guard, but it’ll be interesting to see if the Zags go with point guard Josh Perkins or Silas Melson on McEwen.

Meanwhile, the Aggies’ undersized frontcourt and 6-foot-8, 205-pound center Alex Dargenton must deal with Johnathan Williams and Killian Tillie. Utah State will probably throw a variety of coverages, including zone, at the Zags.

UPDATE: McEwen is out:

Utah State’s Koby McEwen, Mountain West freshman of the year last season, won’t play against GU (ankle injury)
