SEATTLE – Washington ended its Pac-12 Conference volleyball season on Friday by making a big statement.

Courtney Schwan finished with 11 kills while hitting .375 and the Huskies (24-7, 14-6) swept Washington State 25-19, 25-13, 25-14 in Seattle.

The Huskies, who will finish in third place or tied for second, are assured a spot when the NCAA Tournament field is announced on Sunday. UW finished the conference season with three consecutive shutouts.

Ninth-place WSU (17-15, 6-14), which once entertained hopes of making the tournament, figures to be left out.

Washington also defeated WSU 3-1 on Sept. 20.

WSU led the first game 8-6 before faltering. The Huskies stormed ahead 6-1 in the second game and 10-3 in the final.

Bailey Tanner added 31 assists, Tia Scambray had 13 digs, Kara Bajema five aces and Carly DeHoog four blocks for the Huskies.

Taylor Mims had 11 kills for the Cougars but hit just .115. Ashley Brown added 24 assists and Alexis Dirige 11 digs for Washington State.
