Associated Press

CALDWELL, Idaho – Police are investigating after finding a body in a canal in Caldwell on Tuesday night.

Authorities say the man fell into a canal near Griffiths Park at about 4 p.m.

Police say they believe the man, who is in his 60s, might have been picking something up from the ground before falling in. A man who was with the victim attempted to find him, but was unsuccessful.

Caldwell Police Lt. Dave Wright says the body was later found by the Ada County Sheriff’s Office dive team.

The person’s name wasn’t released.
