Area roundup: Cheris Brown’s hat trick propels Sasquatch to victory

Cheris Brown scored three goals, including back-to-back first-half tallies to erase an early deficit, and the Community Colleges of Spokane Sasquatch (10-3-1, 8-1-1) breezed to a 4-1 victory over the visiting Yakima Valley Yaks (4-4-4, 2-4-4) in Northwest Athletic Conference women’s soccer action on Wednesday.

CC Spokane remained two points behind front-running Walla Walla in the East Region.

Linnea Pretzer scored two goals and Chelsea Love added a goal and an assist to propel the North Idaho Cardinals (10-4, 8-2) to a 4-1 win over the visiting Wenatchee Valley Knights (4-8-2, 2-7-1) in NWAC play.

Men’s soccer

Omar Hernandez and Conner Kinnune scored second-half goals 12:30 apart and the North Idaho Cardinals (5-6-2, 4-3-2) held off the visiting Wenatchee Valley Knights (3-7-1, 2-6-1) in NWAC action.

Volleyball

Kayla Neumann had a match-high 15 kills to go with eight digs and Hailee Etter added 13 kills as the North Idaho Cardinals (19-5, 9-0) rolled to a 25-11, 25-12, 23-25, 25-12 win over the Big Bend Vikings (0-21, 0-10) in NWAC play.
