Volleyball roundup: Lucy Gao helps Pullman rally to beat East Valley

Lucy Gao totaled 35 assists and visiting Pullman (5-0) rallied from two sets down to defeat East Valley (1-4) in five sets (24-26, 19-25, 25-18, 25-20, 15-10) in a Great Northern League match on Thursday. Sydney Frogge dished out 33 assists for the Knights.

Cheney 3, Clarkston 0: Peyton Stark recorded 26 assists with six aces and Cheney (4-1) defeated visiting Clarkston (1-5) in straight sets (25-18, 25-18, 25-13). Abby Witt led the Blackhawks’ attack with nine kills, while Ruth Ogden paced the Bantams with 11 assists and two aces.

Northeast A

Lakeside 3, Riverside 0: Saelor Dvorak had five aces and Lakeside ( 7-0) beat visiting Riverside (1-6) in straight sets (25-8, 25-6, 25-9).

Colville 3, Deer Park 1: Kora Pitts had 32 assists with four aces and visiting Colville (5-2) beat Deer Park (3-4, 3-4) in four sets (20-25, 25-11, 25-17, 25-22). Taylor Tarble had nine kills with six aces to lead the Stags.

Freeman 3, Medical Lake 0: Alisa Hansen had 23 assists with eight aces and visiting Freeman (5-1) beat Medical Lake (0-8) in straight sets (25-6, 25-0, 25-10). Sierra Brock had nine digs for the Cardinals.

Newport 3, Chewlelah 2: Olivia Witter logged 31 assists with three aces and visiting Newport (4-4) outlasted Chewelah (4-4) in five sets (27-25, 18-25, 15-25, 25-15, 15-7).

Northeast 2B

St. George’s 3, Davenport 0: Claire Henning collected eight kills, three aces and seven digs and visiting St. George’s (1-3) swept Davenport (0-4) in straight sets (25-22, 25-14, 25-14).

Northwest Christian 3, Wilbur-Creston 0: Emma Sweatman logged 21 kills and visiting Northwest Christian (5-2, 3-0) beat Wilbur-Creston (2-3, 2-3) in straight sets (25-14, 25-18, 25-12).

Colfax 3, Liberty 0: Carmen Gfeller had eight kills, six aces, five digs and two blocks and Colfax (4-0) swept visiting Liberty (2-0) in three sets (25-11, 25-10, 25-15). Piper Cai had eight kills, five digs and two aces for the Bulldogs.

Selkirk 3, Wellpinit 0: Jenna Couch had 23 assists with seven aces and Selkirk (6-1) swept visiting Wellpinit (2-5) in straight sets (25-15, 25-14, 25-17). Christina Carden-Flett had seven kills with a block for Wellpinit.

Southeast 1B

Colton 3, Touchet 0: Jordyn Moehrle recorded four kills with 10 digs and Colton (4-0) swept visiting Touchet (0-4) in three sets (25-14, 25-23, 25-12).

Oakesdale 3, Waitsburg 0: Logan Reed tallied 13 kills, 10 digs and six aces and visiting Oakesdale (3-0) defeated Waitsburg (1-3) in three sets (25-5, 25-13, 25-10).

Idaho

Coeur d’Alene 3, Post Falls 0: Sam Swayze tallied 19 digs with an ace and Coeur d’Alene (6-6, 2-3) swept visiting Post Falls (6-6, 2-3) in three sets (25-17, 25-11, 25-22) in a 5A Inland Empire League crosstown showdown.

Lewiston 3, Moscow 0: Kendyll Kinzer recorded eight kills with four blocks and Lewiston (2-1) swept visiting Moscow (2-2) in straight sets (25-19, 25-17, 25-22) in a nonleague match.

Priest River at Timberlake: McKeeley Tonkin had 18 assists with three aces and Timberlake (2-3, 2-0) swept visiting Priest River (4-8, 1-4) in straight sets (25-13, 29-27, 25-12) in an Intermountain League match. Tabitha Richey had four kills for the Spartans.

Clark Fork 3, Genesis Prep 0: Hailey Bristol collected seven kills, five digs and a pair of aces and Clark Fork (6-0) beat visiting Genesis Prep (3-2) in straight sets (25-20, 25-16, 25-14) in a North Star League match.
